Happy Wednesday ZDSK Fam!!
We are nearing completion of the machining for the survival kit parts. I had final exams for college last week and this week so I haven't had a chance to talk to the Machine Shop this week ((I will be talking to them tomorrow though)). Once the machined parts are finished I will do final inspection to ensure everything is up to my standards, from there I will be sending out the BackerKit surveys. Surveys should be open for roughly a week unless you all would like shorter/longer. I need to verify but to my understanding, Backerkit allows address changes up until the point of printing shipping labels.... After surveys are "complete" all ZDSK parts will go out for HardCoat Anodizing. Once they are anodized, they will be quality inspected and shipping will begin :D YAY!
So my original (and still standing) delivery estimates were for next month. I'm curious if anybody pledged for a ZDSK as a Christmas/Holiday present for someone else? Or are you all getting these for your own use?
Not too much else to update on... I have the next month off from school so ill be using this time to get the spare room in my house set up as my "logistics room" lol... This is where I'll be spending ALOT of time inspecting, packing and shipping every Zero Day Survival Kit =) I'm looking forward to the excitement lol.
So I don't know if I say it enough *cheesy alert* but I really appreciate the opportunity you all have given me. You invested your hard earned money in me and my dream, took it on as your own and helped bring it to life.... and I can't thank you enough :) I hope that I am meeting your expectations and that every step of this project's process you see how much you all mean to me. Thank you for believing in my idea! There's alot more ideas coming once the last ZDSK is shipped and everybody is happy. I might be a little early with my "New Year's Resolution" but my plan is to get a bank loan at the end of January (after the last ZDSK is shipped out) and purchase a CNC Milling Machine so I can start making my own prototypes of all the other ideas I have scribbled down on paper. It is because of YOU that I have the confidence to move forward, the learning experience to adjust and react to unforeseen issues. Thank you :)
Alrighty, enough of the emotional stuff lol. Hope you all are doing good! Have a great rest of the week ZDSK Fam!

It's that time again.....Update time! :D
Happy Wednesday ZDSK Family!!
Not too much changed since the last update:
Production is still on schedule, the main body of the survival kits are being machined now. We are nearing completion of all the machining, once I have final quality inspected the last of the machined parts I will be sending out the BackerKit surveys.
The website is growing and I'm confident it will be fully operational when the surveys go out.
Really not much to inform you all of this update lol.. I think for the first time, I've actually managed to keep this short and to the point ;)
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Wednesday ZDSK Family!
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend, I think I'm still eating leftover turkey lol.
So there's a few pictures in this update, I got the green-light from the machine shop to get some update pictures.. Most of you know I'm not exactly tech savvy, so I had the foresight to get my better half to do the photography ;)
First picture is of the Aluminum Fishing Spools.
These are the Titanium spools for the Titanium Survival Kits...
Close up of the two different material spools, the spool on the left is the Aluminum version, right is the Titanium.. I am loving the titanium stuff.....mmmm :)
Picture of the Aluminum Fire Piston rods (inside the box). The Titanium fire piston rods are done with turning operations, now they head over to the milling operations to have the end milled. In front of the box you can see one of the nearly complete Titanium Fire Piston Rods. The Aluminum Fire Piston Rods are in turning operations and should be ready for inspection next week.
This is the "Magic Maker" mammoth machine doing the turning operations for the Fire Piston Rods... as well as other parts for the survival kit.
The Fire Plug pieces are complete and have gone through Quality control Inspections. Picture shows one of the Fire Plugs on a "Go/NoGo" inspection tool to ensure all threading is precise. One of the perks of using an American Manufacturer with decades of experience: ALL pieces of the survival kit that have been inspected have passed Quality Control with flying colors!
This picture is of one of the Quality Control Specialists taking a reading of the grooves for the O-rings on a Fire Plug. The level of proficiency and precision is astounding!
Picture above is of the Titanium (left) and Aluminum (right) CharCloth "PillBox" that threads inside the end cap of the Zero Day Survival Kit. All of the CharCloth PillBoxes are finished on turning operations, their next step is Milling operations where they will have the center milled out so they can securely store CharCloth and Petroleum Jelly. The little tabs used to hold the pieces for turning operations will be milled off as well.
So we are moving right along with production! This is the Aluminum for the Main Body and End Caps, which are scheduled to start on their own machines at the beginning of next week. The Main Body is the most time consuming and tedious of all of the parts for the ZDSK. In the picture you can see the Manufacturer stamp on the raw aluminum bar stock: Kaiser Tennalum, which is an American Metals Fabrication Facility! Even the metals for the Zero Day Survival Kit are American ;)
This picture shows the raw bar stock Titanium for the Main Body and End Caps. These will be going on the Turning Machine while the Aluminum are on their own Turning Machine.
So that's the production update, still on track with where we need to be.
Website update: The "Zero Day Survival Forums" are shaping up nicely, I have a thread going for ZDSK updates, pictures etc. There are also some polls you can take regarding the next portion of the Zero Day Survival Kit you would like to see made. Right now the options are a Survival Compass attachment and a Survival Solar Charged Flashlight. Once all of the KS Backer fulfillment is complete I will take the final results of the polls and that is what I will work on next. I hope to see you all on the forums so I can get your thoughts on what you want to see next =)
Sticker update: I have proofs as of right now for 3 more sticker designs, one is Zombie themed ;) I think its pretty cool. If you would like a preview, head on over to the Zero Day Survival Forums and ill be uploading them on there soon.
That's pretty much everything for this week, hope ya enjoy the pics! =)
Happy Holidays to all!!

Hey ZDSK Family!
I know most of us are getting ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow, to all who are celebrating: Happy Thanksgiving!!! =) With everybody being pre-occupied, this will be a bare-bones update.
There's not too much different from last week. Website is growing by leaps and bounds. There is a Forum section where I plan to post content with some of the topics being new kickstarter projects that fall into an outdoor/survival/EDC category. It is live at this point if anyone would like to hop over and take a look of the overall layout.
The sticker designs are still being finished up, if anybody wants more info on that just let me know.
Production is moving along, the machine shop has a long weekend in celebration of Thanksgiving but this has already been accounted for in our timeline plan. So again, I'm happy to report we're right where we need to be.
Other than that, nothing new to tell you about.
On a quick side note, with this being my first Kickstarter project created, it is still a learning process for me. You all seem to be very quiet and I'm not sure if that's a sign I'm meeting all of your needs, or if maybe I'm going a bit overboard with updates lol. I would greatly appreciate everyone's thoughts whether good or bad ( I take constructive criticism fairly well ;)
Have a great weekend and Happy Holidays ZDSK Fam!!!
